Bread Maker Recipe for Cuban Bread

You’ll enjoy this bread maker recipe for Cuban Bread. In this Cuban Bread recipe your bread maker will be used to make the dough for the Cuban Bread, which is then baked in the oven.

Ingredients

1-cup Water
¾-cup Hot Water
3-tbsp Water
½-tsp Salt
2-tsp Brown Sugar
3-cups Bread Flour
2-tsp Yeast
1 Egg mixed with 1-tsp water for Egg Glaze
Cornmeal

Directions

· Add water, salt, flour, yeast and brown sugar into the bread-maker according to the manufacturer’s specifications
· Select the Dough Cycle
· Transfer the completed dough to a lightly floured surface
· Roll the dough into a long loaf with tapered ends
· Transfer the dough-loaf to a baking sheet dusted with cornmeal
· Let the dough rise, uncovered, for approximately 10 minutes
· Cut 4 diagonal slashes onto the top of the loaf
· Mix the egg with 1-tsp of water to make Egg Glaze
· Brush the loaf with the Egg Glaze
· Place the sheet on the middle shelf of a cold oven
· Put a shallow pan on the bottom shelf and add the hot water to the pan
· Bake the bread at 400 degrees F for a ½-hour or until done
· Let the Cuban Bread cool on a wire wrack before slicing/eating
