Ingredients
1-cup Water
¾-cup Hot Water
3-tbsp Water
½-tsp Salt
2-tsp Brown Sugar
3-cups Bread Flour
2-tsp Yeast
1 Egg mixed with 1-tsp water for Egg Glaze
Cornmeal
Directions
· Add water, salt, flour, yeast and brown sugar
into the bread-maker according to the manufacturer’s
specifications
· Select the Dough Cycle
· Transfer the completed dough to a lightly
floured surface
· Roll the dough into a long loaf with tapered
ends
· Transfer the dough-loaf to a baking sheet
dusted with cornmeal
· Let the dough rise, uncovered, for approximately
10 minutes
· Cut 4 diagonal slashes onto the top of the
loaf
· Mix the egg with 1-tsp of water to make Egg
Glaze
· Brush the loaf with the Egg Glaze
· Place the sheet on the middle shelf of a cold
oven
· Put a shallow pan on the bottom shelf and
add the hot water to the pan
· Bake the bread at 400 degrees F for a ½-hour
or until done
· Let the Cuban Bread cool on a wire wrack before
slicing/eating
