Bread boards
come in many shapes and sizes,
but, although the size and
design might change, most
bread boards are made of wood.
Hardwood, such as maple, is
the best for bread boards.
However, other materials such
as bamboo are also very popular.
There are several reasons
for buying a wood bread board
including:
- durability,
- resistance to knife slices,
- ease of cleaning,
- promotion of safer food
preparation.
Bread boards vary in size,
from long and thin (for baguettes)
to thick and circular (for
pizzas). In addition, some
bread boards have trays for
a dip or sauce. Finally, many
bread boards are equipped
with a crumb tray for easy
clean-up.
