Rice Makers: Overview
If you or your family
eats rice more than twice a year, then
an electric rice cooker is worth obtaining.
Most models are incredibly simple to use:
just pour the rice in, add the appropriate
amount of water according to the rice
cooker instructions, press the button
and wait till it’s done. Almost all rice
cookers shut off when the water has boiled
away, so you don’t even have to check
on it all that vigilantly.
Off course there are more complex rice
cookers on the market that perform a variety
of other tasks, like steaming pasta or
meats, or cooking different types of rice
“just so”.
Commercial rice cookers have a number
of bells and whistles that the average
rice fan can quite comfortably live without.
Prices range from around $20.00 for small,
simple models to several hundred dollars
for large volume, computerized electronic
rice cookers with all the bells and whistles.
Think hard about what you really need
before you choose your electric rice cooker.
