Choosing a Juicer
There are some important
questions to ask yourself before you buy
a juicer. Well, not all that important.
Not “What is the meaning of life?” or
anything, but still important in terms
of juicer selection. Sorry if that opening
sentence was misleading. The point is
you should keep the following considerations
in mind when making your juicer comparison.
No pressure.
· What can it juice? Try
to juice citrus fruit in a vegetable juicer
you’ll end up with egg on your face, especially
if you’re also juicing eggs, which is
inadvisable.
· Is it easy to use? Do
you have to cut up the fruit, vegetables,
etc, 1st? Is the juicer small enough to
fit on your counter-top? What is the meaning
of life? Kidding!
· Is it easy to clean?
Some types of juicers have crevices and
fiddly bits so hard to clean that Felix
Unger wouldn’t go through the trouble
to clean it.
· What’s the Juice Yield?
A cheap juicer will take a mountain of
fruit and make a molehill of juice; what
you save on the machine you’ll spend on
ingredients.
· How long will the motor
last? Once again you get what you pay
for, so pay for the best juicer motor
you can afford or replace that cheap one
sometime soon.
