Choosing a Slow Cooker
Many people know slow
cookers by another name, the same way
they know facial tissues and adhesive
bandages by another name. You see Crock-Pot
is the trademark of Rival Brand slow cookers.
As you might imagine by this household
name status, Rival is far and away the
market leader when it comes to slow cookers.
This doesn’t necessarily mean, however,
that the Rival slow cooker is the best
in the field, as recent product recalls
indicate. There are many fine slow cookers
manufactures to choose from.
Cuisinart, that staple of kitchen appliance
excellence, offers an excellent Cuisinart
slow cooker in the CSC-650, with its dishwasher
safe ceramic pot and convenient timer.
The 33740 4.5-quart Cool-Touch Hamilton
Beach slow cooker (recipe book included)
is nothing to sneeze at, either. And let’s
not forget the niceness that is the FCS600
6-quart oval Faberware slow cooker that
accommodates large cuts of meat and whole
chickens. There you go. Three excellent slow cookers
without a pot to crock in, so to speak.
Enjoy!
