Brioche Dough
As popular as other French breads, Brioche is a yeast leavened loaf or roll made of flour, sugar, and milk, in which the consistency is similar to that of cakes, with a deep golden brown glazed crust and enriched with egg and butter.
Among all the breads, Brioche is one of the highest in protein, calories and fat breads, but a delicious sin for those who are on a weight loss diet. However, anyone baking Brioche at home helps you to control the quantities of fat, often exceeded if you purchase the bread in a bakery.
Brioche dough requires several hours to complete its preparation. However once mixed, you can keep it in refrigeration up to 24 hours in good baking condition.
Otherwise, you can freeze the dough well wrapped in foil for using small portions as you need to bake fresh bread. Before preparing your own Brioche Dough make sure that you have time and patience, following the basic steps to mix any other braid dough:
- Distribute the ingredients evenly
- Do not over mix the ingredients
- Allow the time required to initiate fermentation
- Use the right water temperature because it is not the same for all doughs
