How to organize your spice shelf
Most modern kitchens have at least one spice shelf to organize all the herbs that you need for preparing tasty meals. However, if your does not, wall mountable spice racks and carousel spice rack that you can buy will work excellently.
First rule, never place your spice shelf near to heat sources, including:
- stove
- refrigerator
- direct sunlight
- other heat sources
Keep in mind that spices and herbs lose their aroma and properties under inadequate storage conditions.
Make sure that each of the containers are properly labeled with the name of the herb or spice, as well as the date when your need to refill the container, and never refill until the actual content is empty or outdated.
If you like to cook using a lot of different spices, your best option is getting a new multi-tiered shelf rack to keep your spices organized.
