Blender Features
When shopping for the best
blender there are a few features to keep an
eye out for, and some specifications to keep
in mind. To help out your eye, your mind and
your mind’s eye, here’s a list of blender information
to peruse.
· Size: Blenders can be large
and bulky, so consider storage space vs. the
size of blender you actually need; if the blender
is left on the counter aesthetics is key.
· Wattage: 400 watts is good
for most personal blender users; more power
doesn’t necessarily mean better function, though
less than 350w is weak.
· Glass or Plastic Pitcher:
Plastic is lightweight, durable and safe for
kids and clumsy people, but is less stable than
glass and can retain tastes and odors.
· Pitcher Size: A pitcher capacity
of between 40 and 50 ounces will be enough for
most blender users, though a commercial blender
may need more.
· Number of Settings: Certain
blenders have 16 or more speeds, but that may
be overkill; look for Pulse, Reverse, High &
Low and that should be fine.
· Touch-pad Controls: Touch-pad
controls up the price a little, but are easier
to clean and less susceptible to wear &
tear.
· Removable Blades: Take them
off for easy cleaning.
· Warranty & Service Options:
These should be taken into account with every
appliance purchase, but blenders are prone to
damage so read the fine print.
