When we discovered this pioneer bread, we knew we had a winner. It's loaded with sweet white onions and tangy sour cream which results in a moist, light loaf with wonderful complementing flavors. The onions are so sweet--it gives the bread a wonderful flavor. It's fancy enough to serve to guests but good enough you'll want to eat it often. This is a package of bread machine mixes but we like to make them as traditional loaves by hand or with our electric stand mixer. You can also use your bread machine to mix the dough and let it rise, then remove it from the machine to bake as a freestanding loaf or in a traditional pan. This bread works as well with dinner as it does for sandwiches. It's one of our favorite sandwich loaves. We like thin-sliced roast beef, mayonnaise, and tomato slices stacked on thick slabs of this Sour Cream Onion Bread. Try it with your favorite meats and cheeses. (Butter or margarine not included) You get two mixes and each mix makes a 1 1/2 pound-sized loaf.
