When we discovered this pioneer bread, we knew we had a winner. The onions are so sweet--it gives the bread a wonderful flavor. It's fancy enough to serve to guests but good enough you'll want to eat it often. You can make these mixes in your bread machine mixes but we like to make them as traditional loaves by hand or with our electric stand mixer and then bake them in the oven. You can also use your bread machine to mix the dough and let it rise, then remove it from the machine to bake as a freestanding loaf or in a traditional pan. This bread works as well with dinner as it does for sandwiches. It's one of our favorite sandwich loaves. We like thin-sliced roast beef, mayonnaise, and tomato slices stacked on thick slabs of this Sour Cream Onion Bread. Try it with your favorite meats and cheeses. (Butter or margarine not included) Each package contains one mix. Each mix makes a 1 1/2 pound-sized loaf.
